Hickory - The "Twilight" series by Stephenie Meyer includes four vampire-based books aimed at young adult readers. They incorporate fantasy with soft romance. Meyer, a Mormon, insists on keeping the love scenes clean. She has said the new book, "Breaking Dawn," due out Saturday, will be the last book in the series from the character Bella's perspective. She also has said she's working on "Midnight Sun," which tells the story from the viewpoint of Edward Cullen, Bella's love interest — one of them, anyway.

1. "Twilight"
544 paperback pages
The series begins with Bella, a high school junior, moving to Forks, Wash., to live with her father, the local sheriff. The new kid in school quickly becomes the center of attention she's not used to getting. In biology class, she sits next to Edward Cullen, the catalyst for the book's vampire action and the love story and the boy who will change her adolescent life forever.

2. "New Moon"
608 paperback pages
Faced with difficult choices, love and loss, Bella comes to understand how she can love two people separately but equally. The book delves more deeply into the character of Jacob, his own unearthly condition and into Native American folklore. This is the book in which Bella finds her strength.

3. "Eclipse"
640 hardback pages (the paperback is yet to be released)
The backdrop of a looming high school graduation and conventional concerns such as college play out against the ethereal themes of immortality. Bella decides what she thinks will make her happiest and realizes all she will have to relinquish to follow her heart.
