RALEIGH
The Greensboro woman accused of killing a North Carolina Central University student last year is set to go on trial this fall.
WRAL-TV reports that Shannon Elizabeth Crawley's trial on a first-degree murder charge has been scheduled to begin on Nov. 10.
Crawley is charged in the January 2007 shooting death of Denita Smith. The 25-year-old graduate student was found slumped against a stairwell at her Durham apartment complex.
The 28-year-old Crawley had worked as a 911 dispatcher in Guilford County since 2000.
Police have said little about a motive for the shooting. Smith's fiance has said Crawley was "stalking" him in the weeks before the shooting.
