NEWTON
Two masked men armed with pistols broke into a home in the St. Stephens community at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and robbed the inhabitants.
A married couple and their adult son occupied the home, which is in the 2400 block of 25th Street NE, at the time of the robbery, according to sheriff's reports.
The suspects demanded money and guns from the victims and stole two shotguns, cash and jew-elry worth an estimated $4,980, according to sheriff's reports.
The Catawba County Sheriff's Office is investigating the home invasion and searching for the suspects who are described as white males about 6-feet 2-inches tall.
No one was injured in the robbery.
