Hickory - 1. Keep a fitness journal to review your performance and track progress. It will keep you from getting discouraged and help keep you motivated.

2. Don't try to overdo it. That will only make you less likely to work out the next time. The World Health Organization recommends an hour a day of moderate activity but if you're band new at exercising, try starting with 20 and minutes and slowly working your way up.

3. Do what you like. If you have a favorite show, get DVDs and set the stationary bike up in front of the TV. More social? Try joining a dance class.

4. Can't decide on a fitness routine? Start walking. What could be easier than putting one foot in front of the other?
