BETHLEHEM
The First Citizens Bank on N.C. 127 north was robbed this morning.
At 10:45 a.m. a man entered the bank, flashed a silver handgun and demanded money, according to police. Authorities did not disclose the amount of money taken in the robbery.
The suspect was wearing a homemade mask, police said. Witnesses described him as a white male, 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.
The suspect left the bank traveling eastbound on Rink Dam Road. He was driving a late model silver mini-van, police said.
FBI investigators are at the bank collecting evidence. There were customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.
