Five charged with trafficking cocaine in Hickory

HICKORY
Five people were arrested and charged Monday with trafficking cocaine.

Three of the suspects were charged by the Hickory Police Department and the Alexander County Sheriff's Office charged two.

The three charged in Hickory were Wilfredo Olivo Ayala, 33, Jose Samuel Ayala Franco, 22, and Edwin Noel Ayala, 21, all of Hickory. Ayala is in the Catawba County jail under at $150,000 bond, Franco is being held under a $100,000 bond and Edwin Noel Ayala is being held under a $100,000 bond. All three made their first appearance in District Court Wednesday.

Alexander County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joel Diaz-Fernandez, 40, of Taylorsville and Isaac Galvez Rios, 38 of Hickory for trafficking cocaine by possession of more than 400 grams. They are each being held on a $250,000 secured bond.
