On Monday, the Panthers (27-7) and Cougars (28-1) got their first game times from the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) as they chase state high school championships.
The first pitch in Patton's best-of-three 2A baseball series with McMichael (24-6) comes Friday at 5 p.m. at N.C. State's Doak Field.
The starting time Friday for Alexander Central's first game in the double-elimination 4A softball tournament at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex in Raleigh is also at 5 p.m., against North Davidson (28-1).
