Hickory - The latest production by the Senior Players at Hickory Community Theatre, "WHCT presents The Cheerios and Jell-O Radio Hour" opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The production includes two classic radio dramas, "Easy Aces" and "Sorry, Wrong Number." Both are presented as staged broadcasts, complete with sound effects, in the Council Chambers Theater at Hickory Community Theatre.

Running those sound effects is Nelson Moretz, a backstage volunteer this entire season. Moretz has crafted some unique props, everything from the pigeons in "The Producers" to David O. Sel-znick's intercom telephone for "Moonlight & Magnolias." But this is his first time on the stage for Hickory Community Theatre.

"The Cheerios and Jell-O Radio Hour" plays weekends through June 28 2009. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

All seats are $10. The ticket price includes one free beverage. Tickets are available at the theater box office, at 30 Third St., NW, or by calling 328-2283.
