Hickory schools sets new summer schedule

HICKORY - Hickory Public Schools Board of Education approved an employee summer schedule with the work week consisting of four 10 hour days beginning Monday, July 6th, through Thursday, Aug. 6, in an effort to save energy in this budget crisis year.
All staff at the administrative services building, as well as principals, counselors and office staff at the schools, will work Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All HPS offices and buildings will be closed on Fridays, except for facilities previously scheduled for use by community partners.
