■ The Swannanoa School of Culinary Arts will again offer weeklong summer programs at Warren Wilson College near Asheville.
Program dates are July 12-18 and July 19-25. Participants may sign up for one or two weeks.
Each day includes a three-hour cooking class, gourmet lunch and afternoon or evening sessions.
Instructors this year include Herve This, a French chef famous for helping to popularize molecular gastronomy.
Enrollment is $1,400 a week, which includes all classes, lunches, most dinners, beer and wine tastings and evening events. Lodging costs an additional $240. A discount is offered to those who sign up for two weeks.
