BETHLEHEM - The Highway Patrol and Alexander County Sheriff's Office are searching for a suspect in this morning's robbery of First Citizens Bank in Bethlehem.

The bank was robbed about 11 a.m. Authorities believe the suspect is the same person who robbed the bank last month because witnesses' description of the escape vehicle matches the previous robbery.

Officers are looking for a late model silver Dodge caravan with no license plate.

Witnesses also said the dye pack inside the money pouch appears to have exploded in the getaway van.

The van was followed, but the pursuit lost sight of it on Davis Cove Road.

The Sheriff's Office and Highway Patrol have set up a perimeter in the search for the suspect.
