This photo taken May 20, 2009 shows Jeff Arnett, the master distiller at the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tenn., testing the aroma of whiskey taken from an aging barrel in one of the barrel houses at the distillery. The whiskey is tested as it ages so it can be removed at the proper time. Arnett is only the seventh master distiller in the 142-year history of Jack Daniel's.
Jeff Arnett takes a sip of Jack Daniel's Old No. 7, just enough for it to settle on his tongue, and then — spits it out.
