The result of The Salvation Army's first "Fix My Wreck … Please" project was revealed Saturday, Dec. 13, when Kasey Earwood received her refurbished 1993 Nissan Maxima.
Her first reaction? "Wow!"
The event is a joint effort between The Salvation Army of Greater Hickory, True2Form and other Catawba County businesses. The Salvation Army of Greater Hickory posted flyers throughout the area, looking for a family in need of reliable transportation. Earwood's application gave them what they were looking for.
In addition to the repair work, a donation of $739 was made to the local Salvation Army.
"We are looking forward to continuing this partnership and the "Fix My Wreck … Please" project in the future. Our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ, one person at a time," said Maj. Kent Davis of The Salvation Army.
Donors included Advantage Glass, Carquest Auto Parts, Chick-fil-A, Dent Wizard International, Enterprise Rental Car, Hickory Wrecker Service, Jim's Detailing, Midas Auto Service, Sherwin Williams, LKQ Auto Parts, Signco.
