Man arraigned for securities fraud

NEWTON--A Claremont man had his first court appearance in Newton today for four counts of felony securities fraud.

J.V. Huffman Jr., owner of the Biltmore Financial Group, allegedly got area residents to invest in his securities company, promising between 10 and 13 percent returns.

He is currently in jail under a $1 million secured bond.
