A head-on collision left one man dead near Sherrills Ford at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Eugene Miscichowski, 44, of Sherrills Ford, was riding his custom motorcycle westbound on N.C. 150 near Little Mountain Road when he crossed the center line and struck a 1976 Chevy pickup headed east, said 1st Sgt. J.T. Williams of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The truck was driven by William Honeycutt Jr., 48, of Mooresville. Honeycutt was not transported to the hospital, Williams said.
Miscichowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We have reason to believe alcohol was possibly involved," Williams said.
The investigation is ongoing.
