Jazz ensemble plans show for Saturday

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Jazz Ensemble will present its fall recital at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Mauney Music Building Recital Hall on campus. This concert is free and open to the public.
The ensemble includes students Matthew Cochran, Tyler Smith, Andrew Seo, Aubrey Brinkley, Julia Byrd, Ashlee Greer and Chris Murphy.
Rick Cline, L-R adjunct professor of percussion and director of the Piedmont Percussion Program, will join the group as a guest artist on drums.
The program will feature the music of Wayne Shorter, Stan Kenton, Benny Carter and Jerry Dodgion, including tributes to the music composed for some of the finest little big bands in the history of jazz.
