»  Comments | Post a Comment

Hickory police arrested Teddy Dee Connor, 50, of South Derby Avenue, Newton, at 3 p.m. Friday. He was charged with robbery with a firearm in connection with an attempted robbery of First Citizens Bank earlier that day.

The suspect walked into the bank at 1855 North Center Street at about 10:30 a.m., and handed a teller a note claiming he had a gun and demanding money.

When the teller hit the panic button, the suspect took his note back and left the bank on foot without any money.

Hickory police investigators identified Connor as the suspect and traced him to his home, where they arrested him.

Connor is being held in the Catawba County jail on a $50,000 secured bond.
