Arrest Made in Murder Case

Taylorsville, NC --

Two suspects have been arrested on murder charges in connection with a child's skeletal remains found in Alexander County in October.
Olga Mendez, 25, and Kevin Eduardo Videa, 21, were taken into custody Feb. 20 in Longview. Texas by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations and a SWAT team comprised by officers with the Longview Police Department and the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, according to the Alexander County Sheriff's Office.
The two are being held at the Gregg County Detention Center pending an extradiction hearing, which should be held Feb. 23 or 24.
Alexander County authorities expect the two to be returned to North Carolina to face the local charges.
