The Hickory Crawdads moved into sole possession of first place in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division on Wednesday night after winning 4-1 in Charleston, S.C.

With two outs and no one on, Matt West walked and it was 3-0 after the Crawdads' Doug Hogan hit his 12th home run of the season.
Right-hander Wilmer Font (6-1) got the win, going 5 2/3 innings in his third consecutive start in which he did not allow a run.
The Crawdads scored in the eighth when West was hit by a pitch, stole second and, with two outs, scored on a liner back up the middle by Leonel De Los Santos.
