HICKORY

Tumbleweeds Corral is sponsoring a poker run Saturday to benefit the Catawba Valley Wig Bank.

"We had no idea how under-funded the wig bank is," said Terry and Debi Geitner, Tumbleweeds owners.

"We feel we have inadvertently landed on a good cause that allows us and all who participate to make a worthy contribution to a local non-profit organization that benefits many in need."

The wig bank provides hairpieces for cancer victims.

The poker run starts at Wizards where riders and passengers will register between 8:30 and 10 a.m. The first of six cards will be drawn at Wizards.

Stops include The Silver Spur Saloon in Love Valley, Cross-Roads Harley-Davidson in Wilkesboro, Riders Roost in Ferguson and Tumbleweeds. The final stop is Dos Amigos on 4th Street in Hickory.

Dos Amigos is contributing dinner for participants. There will be door prizes and gifts.

For more information, call Tumbleweeds at 324-7866.
