Two Caldwell County residents and one Georgia resident were arrested after the Tobacco-To-Go convenience store was robbed at gunpoint for a second time in a week.
Jason Leon Tolbert, 30, of Hudson, Shawn Henry McLean, 30, of Lenoir, and Joshua Lee Tolbert, 21, of Guyton, Ga., were arrested Tuesday night by Granite Falls Police investigators for Sunday's convenience store armed robbery, according to police. The store is at 124 Pinewood Road.
During the robbery, a man wearing a mask entered the store at 1:45 a.m., said he was armed and left with money from the cash register, police said. The clerk was not injured during the robbery and was able to provide a description of the robber to law enforcement. An undisclosed amount of money was taken during the robbery.
A Crimestoppers tip led investigators to the Tolberts and McLean, police said. Police seized evidence related to the robbery and found the vehicle used during the robbery. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office and the Lenoir Police Department assisted in the investigation.
All three men were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to police. Jason Tolbert and McLean were placed in the Caldwell County jail under $100,000 secured bonds and Joshua Tolbert's bond was set at $125,000 secured bond. All three men are scheduled to appear in District Court in Lenoir today.
Police said the Tobacco-To-Go also was robbed June 9. That robbery happened at 1:30 a.m.
The clerk was not injured and a Caldwell County Sheriff's Office K-9 team was able to find several pieces of evidence.
The next day, Brian Tyler Younce, 20, of Hudson, was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He was placed in the Caldwell County jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
