A man was shot late Wednesday after an argument got out of hand, according to law enforcement.
At about 6:30 p.m., a few people who live at East End Court trailer park off N.C. 10 in Claremont got into an argument with a few others who were visiting, said Lt. Joel Fish with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
Although the fight broke up, at least two of the people came back to East End Court after 11 p.m., Fish said.
Mark Anthony Hopkins, the trailer park manager, tried to block the suspects from entering the trailer park using his truck, Fish said.
One of the people shot Hopkins in the mid-torso area, near the abdomen.
He was taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center. Hopkins was listed in fair condition Thursday afternoon, according to a spokesperson with the hospital.
The Catawba County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 464-5241.
