The Twelfth Annual Catawba Valley Pottery & Antiques Festival in Hickory this Saturday

The Twelfth Annual Catawba Valley Pottery & Antiques Festival will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 5 pm at the Hickory Metro Convention Center, located at 1960 13th Avenue Drive SE.

More than 110 vendors will be exhibiting antique southern traditional and contemporary pottery. There will be educational videos and demonstrations. The schedule includes a lecture by internationally known NC potter Mark Hewitt, "A Few of My Favorite Things about North Carolina Pottery" and an exhibit: "How Contemporary Potters Use Tradition". Also scheduled are book sales and pottery identification.

The show focuses attention on traditional Southern pottery, utilitarian and historical pottery, antiques and folk art.

Tickets are $6.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 12 and under.
