For $100, someone will win a Benz

Tickets are now on sale for the 23rd Anniversary Mercedes Gala, conducted annually by the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
The raffle and silent auction event will be Monday, Dec. 7 at Lake Hickory Country Club.
At the end of the evening, one ticket holder will be the owner of a 2010 Mercedes-Benz. Last year's event raised nearly $30,000 for the Catawba County cultural community.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, which will feature the specialties of several local restaurants. The evening also will include a silent auction of artwork. The drawing will begin at 6 p.m.
Tickets, at $100 each, are available through the United Arts Council of Catawba County office at 324-4906 or at www.artscatawba.org.
Each ticket admits two people to the party for heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages.
