My family and myself wish to thank the Hickory Daily Record for publishing the obituary on October 24 for Mr. Charles D. McCracken.
It very thoughtful, and the whole family is very appreciative.
We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for the timely publication and hope that you keep up the good work and loyalty you have shown for our family in our time of sorrow.

The Sybrant Family would like to thank all of the special people who have helped our family though our true time of need.
Thank you to all of our special close friends, our extended family, Hickory Funeral Home, Temple Baptist Church, Covenant Baptist Church, our Longhorn Steakhouse family, RPM WFG, to all the law enforcement agencies and especially the Appalachian students and faculty.
Thank you for the prayers, the food, drinks, coffee, and the uplifting words.
A special thank you to all the people who stopped on U.S. 321 and tried to help our daughter Charlie.

Mayoral candidate has passion, vision
Lee Moritz for mayor of Conover? Yes! This is the decision many of you must make on Nov. 3. I lived in Conover from 1973-2001 where Marilyn and I raised our family. Conover is a great place to call home and as such needs and deserves great leadership. Therefore, I support Lee Moritz for mayor.
I have known Lee since he was in the stage band with my younger brother. Over the years, I have found Lee to be a person committed to God, his family, his community and his business career. He has consistently illustrated these characteristics for more than 23 years as my business associate and friend at GoldToeMoretz.
Lee has great passion and vision. He deeply cares about the people of our community and will weigh his governance accordingly. Lee understands what it takes to make budgets balance and communities grow, and that's what is needed in government today.
Government rarely gets a candidate like Lee Moritz to enter the ring as the frustrations and obstacles of the government grind keeps many away. Lee is the exception. He is a person that gets things done without compromising his integrity, which is rare in politics or business.
Lee Moritz is the choice for mayor of Conover and I wish Lee and Michele the best.

Conover candidate has earned public support
I am proudly voting for Joie Fulbright for Conover City Council on November because he has earned it. He wants to serve me, he wants to serve you and he wants to serve us in an informed, positive manner.
He attends all Conover City Council and Planning Board meetings, and he listens — truly listens.
I want him to speak for me and fight for me because he knows the issues.
I hope you join me in voting for Joie Fulbright because he wants to be the people's voice.
