A traffic stop led to the arrest of two teens accused of breaking into a jewelry store early Sunday morning.

When a Cleveland County deputy saw a Chevrolet S10 pickup driving erratically and cross the centerline, he pulled it over. He spotted a trashcan filled with jewelry in the truck, said Chief Deputy Coy Reid of the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.

He contacted the Catawba County Sheriff's Office and told them he'd found a lot of jewelry in bags marked Shenandoah Gold 3611 South N.C. 127.

Catawba County deputies checked the store and saw that its back door looked like it had been kicked in. They met the Cleveland County deputy and took custody of the suspects.

Anthony Nicolas Sutton, 17, of Boiling Springs and Douvhn William Hamby, 18, of Shelby were arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm.

Hamby's bond was set at $15,000 secured and Sutton's was set at $7,500.

Sutton and Hamby are accused with stealing $10,000 in gold and silver coins, new jewelry and jewelry that had been left at the shop to be repaired. A snub-nose .38 revolver was also reported stolen from the shop and found in the possession of the suspects, Reid said.
