HICKORY
The Hickory Community Relations Council is seeking projects to fund for the 2009-10 fiscal year.
The city-sponsored organization wants non-profit agencies, churches, institutions and schools to think creatively in the design of programs.
These programs should promote human understanding, resolution of conflicts, inclusiveness, appreciation of diversity, good community relations, wellness and respect, and interaction among people of various cultures and nationalities.
Applicants may include any 501(c)(3) or otherwise tax exempt organizations, according to a news release.
The deadline for submitting for the spring grant cycle is March 3.
The city encourages agencies to develop partnerships to avoid duplication of services. Grant guidelines will be mailed with the application form.
Funds from the CRC are provided by the city and may not be used to pay salaries, construct buildings, or promote a political or religious point of view.
A report on the use of the funds is required. The CRC reserves the right to request an audit.
