HHS to hold meeting on IB program

Parents and students in ninth and 10th grades are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hickory High School media center to learn about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

It is offered at Hickory High during the junior and senior years. The IB Diploma Programme is open to students living in Catawba County and surrounding areas.

The IB Diploma Programme is an academically challenging program. Students who successfullly complete the IB Programme receive college credit and recognition by leading universities around the world. The course work includes advanced studies in English, math, biology, physics, history, French, Latin, Spanish, music, visual art and IB Theory of Knowledge.

The registration process for the IB Diploma Programme will occur during the spring semester for the 2010-2011 school year. For more information contact Mercia Barringer at Hickory High School (828) 322-5860 or by email barringerme@hickoryschools.net.
