Larry's Music & Sound presents the Homegrown Music Party on Aug. 14 at the Newton-Conover Auditorium.
The concert will showcase a variety of local and regional singer songwriters. Artists scheduled to perform are, Alan Mearns, Casey Clark, Tony Eltora, Patrick Warren, Chris Church, Makenzie Marie and A Furry Greene Fox.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. A cash bar will be provided by Copperbean.

Tony Eltora
Raised in Richmond Va., Tony Eltora was playing and performing at the age of 12. Eltora's sound is a mix of jazz, world beat, blues and funk. He moved to Hickory in 1998. Here, he offers private guitar instruction and performs in local and regional bands. He has shared the stage with many national and regional musicians including, Tim Reynolds, Karl Denson, Oteil Burbridge and Acoustic Syndicate. Alan Mearns
Alan Mearns, AKA Wine Dark Sea, grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He moved to North Carolina with his family at 17, and won the prestigious Fletcher scholarship for music at Appalachian State University, where he studied classical guitar and composition. He now lives in Hickory, touring the Southeast and Europe with his original songs. He also is one half of the Traditional Irish Music duo, The Belfast Boys. Chris Church
Chris Church is a versatile singer/songwriter/guitarist with considerable experience. He has been in power-pop bands (The Jones, Junkflower, Chalky), a progressive metal band (Flat Earth), a noisy oddball band that defies categorization (Jack Sabbath), and has played for many years with numerous fine musicians. A show with Nashville veterans 'The Long Players' doing a night of Beatles music was a highpoint of recent activity. Lately, Chris has been seen more often in a solo capacity. He has also produced recordings for and played alongside many top-notch musicians in varying situations in the recent past. He has garnered critical acclaim for his recordings, and continues to write and perform. After several years in the Charleston SC area, Chris has now relocated back to his hometown of Lenoir NC. A Furry Greene Fox
A Furry Greene Fox sprung from the backcountry of Foscoe, in the backyard of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The band consists of Laura Diane Greene and Natasha Fox. Makenzie Marie
Makenzie Marie is your typical small town girl with some big dreams. Born and raised in Hickory, she has written numerous songs, made a music video and landed roles in several movies. She recently recorded her first full-length album at OceanWay Studios in Nashville Tenn. and BombHouse Studios in Morganton and has since been playing festivals and venues around the region. Casey Clark
Growing up in rural North Carolina in a 100-year-old farmhouse surrounded by family greenhouses and colorful plants, Casey Clark fell in love with melody.
