Here is the Anne Fischer for Congress campaign's response to an e-mail sent to the news media by former campaign manager Will Bigger
"I am running to represent the people of the 10th District in the US House of Representatives. My life's work has always been about helping people. Today, I am saddened at the loss of my friend, Will Bigger, as my campaign manager. Will served my campaign in 2004 and was instrumental in the exploration process last fall. I was forced to make difficult decisions surrounding Will's involvement in my campaign. Will has some personal issues that he must work on, and being involved in this campaign would have been a distraction to him being able to do that," Anne remarked today regarding the resignation of campaign manager Will Bigger.
Will's remarks to the media are not entirely representative of Anne's experience or work. Anne has served the people of the 10th district for the last 35 years as a teacher, a social worker and a community activist. She has served on a number of boards, committees and has remained actively engaged in a number of civic activities.
Anne is very tolerant and supportive of people of all faith beliefs, even those that are different than her own. She does own and operate a stress release practice, but the manner that Mr. Bigger explains Anne's practice, is not true. She works with her clients to identify and eliminate stress in their lives. Her clients range from medical doctors to stay-at-home-moms. Her involvement in groups that serve women, is in no doubt obvious. However, Anne has remained focused on serving the needs of this district. Those needs include creating and developing jobs, improving the quality of education and developing sensible energy policies and sustainable energy alternatives.
Anne is currently employed with the City of Morganton and owns/operates a gardening and landscaping business — Master Gardner Pro. Her business is successful and thriving, despite recent economic downturns.
Mr. Bigger, a resident of South Carolina, will be contacted by the campaign and asked to avoid further slanderous remarks. The campaign may pursue legal action against Mr. Bigger if he continues.
Friends of Anne Fischer, Anne's official campaign committee, will seek to replace Mr. Bigger's position. Pam Yount, a Hickory business owner, serves as Ms. Fischer's treasurer. Brandon Greeson will serve as interim campaign manager and communication's director.
