The Catawba County Republican Party will have its 2010 county convention on March 20 at the old 1924 Catawba County Courthouse, 30 North College Ave., on the downtown square.
The meeting will take place in the Robert E. Hibbitts Meeting Room.
All registered Republicans and registered Independents are invited.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. The convention starts at 10 a.m. and will continue until 1 p.m.
The theme of this year's convention is "Celebrating Our Patriotic Roots."
Friends group to discuss book sale
Friends of Catawba County Library will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, March 15, at Main Library.
On the agenda will be discussion of the ongoing book sale and support of library projects including materials purchases, Summer Reading and support of upcoming author visits.
Friends is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a community liaison and support group for the entire county library system.
