Deputies have arrested three people in an armed robbery at a Hiddenite home on Adams Lane committed on Feb. 27. They are looking for two more suspects involved in the robbery.
The robbers stormed into the home armed with a shotgun and ordered the residents to lie down on the floor at about 9:30 p.m.. They threatened the residents as they stole their belongings.
When Alexander County deputies arrived the thieves were gone.
During the home invasion, no serious injuries were reported but about $725 worth of possessions was sto-len, according to the incident report.
A shotgun that was used during the incident was found and is in evidence in the sheriff's Office.
Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman refused to speculate on the reason behind the home invasion saying that he does not want to compromise an ongoing investigation.
The subsequent investigation led officers to three suspects:
Rickey Kyle Linney, 20, of Hiddenite was arrested on March 4 and placed under a $25,000 secured bond.
David Joseph Byrd, 34, of Taylorsville was arrested on March 9 and placed under a $50,000 secured bond.
Whitney Renaye Bennett, 20, of Hiddenite was arrested on March 11 and placed under a $15,000 secured bond. Bennett posted bond and left jail the day she was arrested.
Investigators are looking for two additional suspects: Richard Brent Connor Jr., 19, of Taylorsville and Michael Anthony Terry Jr., 19, of Statesville.
Bowman said a reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of Connor and Terry. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 632-8555 or the Alexander County Sheriff's Office at 632-4658.
