The Green Room Community Theatre's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" opens this week.
The historic Broadway musical marks the theatre's final production for the 2009-2010 season.
"South Pacific" is also the final main-stage musical The Green Room will perform at the Newton-Conover Auditorium before moving downtown into the Old Post Office Playhouse.
The exciting musical is set in the Pacific Islands near the end of World War II. "South Pacific" features American musical standards such as "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," "This Nearly Was Mine," "Younger than Springtime" and "Some Enchanted Evening."
"South Pacific" is directed by John Coffey with choreography by Trish Folsom.
Show dates are 8 p.m. today, Friday, May 14, and tomorrow, Saturday, May 15, as well as May 21, 22, 28, and 29 and 3 p.m. May 16, 23 and 30.
The Green Room Box Office for "South Pacific" is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. throughout the run of the show.
