Shawn Adam Meredith, 24, of Stony Point, was arrested Wednesday by Alexander County deputies and charged with the first-degree rape of a child.
He is being held in the Alexander County jail on a $750,000 secured bond.
The Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center assisted the sheriff’s office with its investigation.
