How do I sign up for special features such as daily news blasts, breaking news alerts or contests?
You can register for daily news blasts, breaking news alerts and text alerts by clicking Email Newsletter Registration and Text Alert Registration links located under Tools in the menu bar. You can play our contests by clicking on the Contest link located under Entertainment in the menu bar.
Why should I register?
Convenience. Why wait for your news? Tomorrow's Headlines will be emailed to you everyday. You will receive Breaking News Email Alerts and Text Alerts concerning traffic, weather, sports and school closings that will assist you with managing your day. You should register for the contests because everyone likes to have fun and win!
How do I subscribe to the Hickory Daily Record?
You can subscribe to the Hickory Daily Record by clicking on the Hickory Daily Record newspaper on the right side of the site or by clicking on Tools in the menu bar and selecting the Subscribe link.
Can I search for old articles on the Web site?
Yes and no. Recent articles may be available online, but the best way to find an article is to visit the local library and browse the physical copies of the newspaper.
How can I submit a letter to the editor?
You can submit a letter to the editor by clicking on Opinion in the menu bar and selecting Submit Letter to the Editor. We must have name, address and telephone numbers.
How do I submit a comment to an article?
You will need to register. At the bottom of each article, there is a comment box with a registration link. It's painless. Once you register, you will have a user name and password that can be used each time you want to comment on an article.
