I will no longer patronize businesses that don't allow smoking, which means more money in my pocket. It is not the governments place or anyone elses to tell me where and when I can smoke. If the restaurant has the proper ventilation system, and is not directly next to non smokers this should not be an issue. But they have chosen to make it one. Of course, there is a loophole, all they have to do is put up CIGAR BAR on their sign and BAM back in business and back to the smokers. I urge those of you that do smoke and do go to the public places such as restaurants and bars to call your local representatives and tell them this is discrimination.

Just like Norma Rae's Preacher, from the movie with the same name, said to Norma Rae after he told her she could not use the church for a union organization meeting and she told him she would never come back to that church if she could not have the meeting there. He said, "We're going to miss your voice in the choir Norma Rae".

Since the government has seen fit to use smokers as the scapegoat for high insurance rates, they can't afford to go out to restaurants so it really makes no difference if smoking is banned. Let's see what happens to bars when the government turns to taxing alcohol as the next way to stop insurance rate hikes. Perhaps if the insurance companies and the drug companies were regulated, the answer might be found to keeping medical costs in check.
