The Hickory Hurricanes Under-11 team finished second in the USSSA National World Series in Kingsport, TN, on July 15 through 20. They won five straight games to reach the finals before falling to Ohio's Union Post 78 4-3. They won the KFC Memorial Championship and finished second in the Gatorade Spring Championship and the Baseball/Apple Pie/Chevy Summer Classic.
