Bucs defeat Milligan JVs on the road, will play at home on Tuesday night

Three players reached double figures on Monday night, leading visiting Catawba Valley Community College to a 67-54 women’s basketball victory over the Milligan College junior varsity.

Paige Moore and Stephanie Cabral each scored 12 points and Samiya Pitts added 11 for the Bucs, who go nine rebounds from Cabral.

CVCC’s next game is Tuesday night at home at 7 p.m. against Clinton Community College.

Maiden basketball clinic set for Saturday at school

Maiden High has scheduled its second annual Kickoff Clinic for basketball for Saturday at the high school.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the three-hour clinic runs from 9 a.m. to noon.

Instruction is for second- through eight-graders and will include participation in drills, contests and games.

The cost is $20 per camper.

East Burke begins sale of season athletic passes

East Burke High has start selling season passes for its home athletic events.

They are $45 per person for basketball and baseball and $40 per person for softball.
