Rare Birds spotted in Connellys Springs

I was amazed yesterday when I heard a ruckess at the creek. The photo shows (although hard to see due to colors), are 12 Cedar Waxwings. I have never seen one around here much less twelve. Does anyone know if they are common to our error or am I (as usual), the last to see or know?
